PROMOTION OF INVESTMENTS (PROMOTED ACTIVITIES AND PROMOTED PRODUCTS) (AMENDMENT) ORDER 2002

IN exercise of the powers conferred by section 4 of the Promotion of Investments Act 1986 [Act 327 ], the Minister makes the following order:

 

Citation and commencement

 

1.(1) This order may be cited as the Promotion of Investments (Promoted Activities and Promoted Products) (Amendment) Order 2002.

 

(2)  The amendments in subsubparagraphs 2(a)(ii) and 2(b)(ii) shall be deemed to have come into operation on 31 March 2001.

 

(3)  The amendments in subsubparagraphs 2(a)(i), 2(b)(i) and subparagraph 2(d) shall be deemed to have come into operation on 1 January 2001.

 

(4)  The amendments in subsubparagraphs 2(b)(iii), 2(b)(iv), 2(b)(v) and paragraph 3 shall be deemed to have come into operation on 20 October 2001.

 

(5)  The amendment in subparagraph 2(c) shall be deemed to have come into operation on 5 April 2001.

 

Amendment of First Schedule

 

2.  The Promotion of Investments (Promoted Activities and Promoted Products) Order 1995 [P.U.(A) 31/95], which is referred to as the "principal Order" in this Order, is amended in the First Schedule —

 

(a)   in item XIV under the column “Industries”—

 

        (i)    by inserting in item (9) under the column “Products/Activities” the following subitem:

 

“(a)  Automobile air conditioning compressors"; and

 

        (ii)   by inserting after item (9) under the column “Products/Activities” the following item:

 

“(10)  Servicing and upgrading of machinery and equipment";

              

(b)   in item XVI under the column “Industries”—

 

(i)    by substituting for the words "Supporting products/services" the words "Manufacturing related services";

 

        (ii)   by inserting after item (16) under the column “Products/Activities” the following item:

 

“(17)  Total chemical management system";

       

        (iii)  by inserting after item (17) under the column “Products/Activities” the following item:

 

“(18)  Integrated logistic services";

 

        (iv)  by inserting after item (18) under the column “Products/Activities” the following item:

 

“(19)  Integrated market support services"; and

 

        (vi)  by inserting after item (19) under the column “Products/Activities” the following item:

 

“(20)  Integrated central utility facilities";

 

 

(c)   in item XVII under the column “Industries”, by inserting after subitem (s) of item (5) under the column"Products/Activities” the following subitem:—

 

“(t) Fabrication of light emitting diodes (LED)"; and

 

       

(d)   in item XX under the column “Industries”, by inserting after item (5) under the column"Products/Activities” the following item:—

 

“(6)  Multiwall pipes".

 

 

Amendment of Second Schedule

 

3.  The Second Schedule to the principal Order is amended in item 1 under the column “Industries”, by inserting after item (4) under the column"Products/Activities” the following item:—

 

“(5)  Rearing of chickens and ducks".
